Hunter's 1st real day at the Beach

Me and my little man went to the beach today after work. He actually went to the beach back in May 2007 in Gulf Shores, Al and Destin, Fl but he was only 3 weeks old. This time however he was able to walk around in the water and get more involved. He loved it. We played in the water and posed for many pictures. But I think his favorite thing to do was chase the seagulls. I'm sure you give him some time and he'll be out there with his old man fishing.

Hunter on the Tractor

Here's little Hunter trying to drive a Tractor. He thinks he's so big. His Papaw-Miles sure would be laughing 'bout right now.

The family at Grove, OK for July 4th

We went to Grand Lake, OK for the 4th. It was so fun. We were there for 4 days. Some of the activities we did were fish, swim, watch fireworks and go boating. But most importantly was the fact that we were there together as a family.

Hunter Playing at Cole Park, Corpus Christi June 2008

Here's my little Manzer...that's what we sometimes call him. Here's Hunter playing at Cole Park. He really liked it.

Hunter just chillin in the sink

Look at this little devil! He thinks he's so cool just hanging out in the the sink. Oh well. He really enjoyed it.

Hunter and Daddy in the snow, Jan 2008

It snowed twice this year! I coudn't believe it when I woke up that morning. Here's a picture of Hunter and me.

Big Buck, January 2005

This is by far the largest buck I've ever taken during my hunting career. I've hunted the woods of my Aunt Virginia near Loyd Star Highschool for nearly 10 years but never in my wildest imagination thought this was going to come by my stand. My brother and brother-in-law advised my they had found some big rubs and scrapes in the area and that I should focus my last day to hunt along her woods. I decided I'd take their advise and give it a try. About 8:00 a.m. I heard a dog barking out in front of me maybe 250 yards. This dog repeatedly ran up and down a fence line. I was unable to see what it was chasing but I knew it wasn't running too fast. Then in an instant I saw something jump into a cutover in front of my stand. I looked through my scope and saw antlers. I didn't know how big they were but I knew I was going to take a shot when it stopped. I realized the dog was a house dog and the deer was jumping back and forth trying to throw the dog off its trail. Sometimes the deer would turn around and rush itself at the dog. Well, to make a long story short, I took the 1st shot with my dad's 30-06. I hit the deer in the back abdomen. He ran up a hill and stopped. I took a 2nd shot and missed. Then he began walking to me. When he got about 130 yards from me I took another shot and he dropped. When we found the buck we realized how much of a trophy it was. Allen Morgan scored the deer at 157 and aged him around 6-7 years old.

September 2006 Idaho Deer Hunting Trip

This is a buck I was able to take on a hunt that my brother Matt and I were able to do just after I was married. This deer came off an island and was walking through a sand bar on its way to an alfalfa field. We had scouted earlier that day and had decided this funnel was the perfect spot to harvest a deer. Fortunately the plan worked out perfect. This was my first deer in velvet. I sure hope that I can go back another day. Also, you can see Matt and I standing together on an old bridge over the Snake River. Hunting in SouthEastern Idaho along the Snake is some of the funnest deer-hunting I've ever experienced.

Bachelor Fishing Trip, August 2006

Here's a picture of my brothers and dad and myself on the last weekend before I was married. We had a really good day as you can see. Each one of us hooked up with some nice reds and specs. We also caught some drum, ladyfish as well as many others. It was a day I don't think I'll ever foget. We waded out about waist deep just off FrontBeach in Ocean Springs, Ms. We used live shrimp and bull-minnows. Fortunately this was a day that all of us enjoyed.

The Most Nervous Day Of My Life

Obviously this was August 12, 2006. This is the day the Scotter was eternally joined with his beautiful hot red-haired wife, Misty. We were sealed in the Baton Rouge Temple on this day. The whole week leading up to the wedding was pretty hectic. We had so much planting in my mom's flower gardens. I was constantly running back and forth to get sawdust to put in the flower beds. Misty and her two former roomates were putting the finishing touches on bridal things. We had to fight with our 25-year-old septic tank backing up into the house. Yes, it was like a scene from "Meet the Parents" but without the yard being soked. But in the end, The day was beautiful. We were sealed and had a wonderful ring ceremony afterwards with both sides of the family. As you can see, Misty is definately the "Better Half" in this photo.

The 2nd Most Nervous Day of My Life

This was obviously the day Hunter was born. I had always dreamed of being a father and holding my children but when the time came to really have one of my own I was very nervous. The day started with me in the middle of a press conference between USM and Forrest General Hospital. I got a call from Misty that her blood pressure was high and she was dialated enough to induce labor. I rushed to the hospital to see Misty in a gown with drips in her arms. It was a pretty relaxed event for Misty. She handled it very well and didn't seem to complain about anything. I was pretty calm but inside the anxiety was eating me alive. I couldn't believe I was about to hold my son for the first time. The labor lasted about 14 hours. When he was born, I checked for 10 fingers and 10 toes. After everything looked normal, the doctor asked me to cut the umbilical cord. With that knocked out of the way they put Hunter on a scale, 7 lbs. and 2 oz. and measuring 20 1/4 inches long. He was perfect.

The 3rd Most Nervous Day Of My Life

May 15, 2006 was without a doubt a long day for me. You see, this was the day that I was going to propose to my beautiful girlfriend Misty Miles. I purchased the ring on May 12 and had in my posession for two days with Misty with me in Brookhaven, Ms! She never knew. In fact, it was in my pocket and she was sitting right next to me on the drive there and back. Anyways, we went to our favorite place, Lake Perry in Mississippi. I told her I had a gift I wanted to give her. I think she thought it was a ring but when she saw the wrapped present in the shape of a framed picture she was confused. Well, we walked to a private pier in the woods and I gave her the present. When she unwrapped it she read a quote from President David O. McKay: "A Beautiful, Modest, Gracious Woman is Creations Masterpiece". Of course she loved it and thought I was the greatest man on the planet. I then told her I wanted to take a picture of her and me together to remember the moment. This is when I put the camera on video instead of the timer. She was caught of guard when I turned and dropped to one knee. Of course she said yes and like most girls, she stared gleefully at the ring. I posted a video for anyone to see how happy and greatful my wife makes me. Don't laugh too hard at her when she just stares over and over at the ring.
