Hurricane Ike and Corpus

Fortunately we were able to avoid the Hurricane last night. However there were many that weren't as lucky as we were.

Tonight, Misty and I drove around to see how the water surge had affected the city. We went into Portland and noticed that on Highway 35 North the water had come into downtown and was running through her streets. We did however see several people fishing and surfing in the water and they didn't appear to be affected by the rise in the water.

On our way back we commented on how pretty the view was facing back into the city and how pretty the sunsets were.

Labor Day Visitation!!!!

Well, my parents came to visit Misty and I last Thursday on August 28th. They are leaving tomorrow morning heading to see my sister Tara in Houston to visit her family. We have been so content having some family come to visit and spend time with us. Hunter has enjoyed them so much. We and he will miss them dearly when they leave.

In fact, Hunter had such a good time that in this small video clip you can see him dance to the rythm of Salsa & Merengue with us cheering him on in the background. Notice the leg stomping he gets from his mom.
